a little bit about me! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Hello my name is Vic,I'm 28 years old and live in Missouri. This page is under construction as I really do not know what I am doing, but a little about me: I was born in New Jersey, I grew up in North Carolina. I lived in New Mexico for several years, and now live in Missouri. I am married and have a daughter, Marissa, who is the most wonderful thing that ever happened to me. You can fall in an out of love with others, but your child can keep you balanced. I love music, I play the guitar, and albums (cd's) are my music books. I learned by ear. I play blues rock kind of stuff. Favorite musicians/bands (in no particular order) Freddie King, Hendrix, Black Crowes,Albert King, and many many more, as long as it has heart, and soul.....Pictured to the left is Stevie Ray Vaughan, a huge influence on me, I first heard his music when I was 13 and if ever there was a person put onto this earth to play guitar and find a direct connection between music and essence of soul, it is him. I was fortunate enough to meet him after a show in Aug, 1989, and was struck then by what a genuinely warm and humble person he was, I recognized that even though I was just 19. His personality mirrored his music. Stevie left us the following year, in Aug. 1990, due to a helicopter crash following a show in Wisconsin. If you love music, and you have never heard his before, I urge you to find something by him, you will not be dissapointed. I am humbled by his music, and always find something new to learn there.
Thangs I like to do: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Often I am asked where winderosion comes from; well, here it is. One of the things I love to do is to hunt for artifacts and meteorites in wind eroded areas in the desert southwest, called blowouts. Blowouts are bowl shaped depressions that dot the landscape in the west, and the wind scours the sand out leaving several thousand years of material laying in the bottom of the depression. All it takes is a little time, a lot of patience and an awful lot of walking. It can be incredibly rewarding though, I have a spearpoint that I found in South Central NM that dates at 11,500 years old, and was used to hunt woolly mammoth. I have yet to find a meteorite, as I got into them after I had left this region, but I will someday. The picture to the left is a stony-iron meteorite known as a pallasite found in Dora, (Roosevelt County) NM, by someone who does what I do. It attests to the treasures that are out there, just waiting to be found.... I do have a modest collection of meteorites from localities around the world, including a few extremely rare specimens. Meteorites, and artifacts for that matter, can be found in many places around the world, and knowing what to look for and where to look is the key. I know a little about this, and more than happy to share what I know with others.
some more thangs.... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
I have a lot of interests; I love to fish, when I have time to that is, fly fishing in particular, and tie my own flies. I just recently bought sport-kite, so that is a new learning experience for me. I have always wanted to be a pilot, and while that hobby is a little out of my reach, I like to fly sims.
